Birth is a course nature. And the dreams of an
individual differ from others. Children are the most precious gift from the almighty god. Sometimes, some of these blossoms are crushed by few sadist. I think these sadist persons are not born with hearts. If we ask such a crushed bud
“what happened to you ?”,they don’t know “what happened to them”. This is the
fact, as a matter of concern it is happens.
What is child abuse?
To be precise, ‘child abuse’ is the physical, sexual or
emotional maltreatment or neglect of a child or children. Act of failure by a
parent or caretaker which ends in death, serious physical or psychological
harm, sexual exploitation, unfair future with lots of question marks. It is
worth mentioning this quote here....
"Child abuse and neglect offend the basic values of our
state. We have a responsibility to provide safe settings for at-risk children
and facilitate permanent placement for children who cannot return
home"-Matt Blunt
- PHYSICAL ABUSE: Physical abuse involves physical aggression directly at a child by an adult, results in serious injuries, illegal death and harm of a child’s dignity.
- SEXUAL ABUSE: Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation, which aimed towards for financial profit of the person committing the act or for physical gratification. Finally ends in guilt and self-blame, flashbacks, nightmares, insomnia, fear of things associated with the abuse, chronic pain, addiction, suicidal ideation, depression, and other mental illness.
- PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE (emotional): This phenomenon is due to the production of psychological growth of a child results of behavior such as rude attitude (name calling, torture), harsh criticism by this society by abusing words finally the act of perishing the child’s personality, rotting their self-confident.
- NEGLECT ABUSE: Literally child neglect is lack of attention by the parent or guardian in providing enough food, clothing, shelter. Often, this happens because of the structural problem like family’s poverty, lack of awareness.
What are the effects of child abuse?
- Developing psychiatric problems
- Later in life they suffer from different types of physical inconvenience and muscular pain.
- One long-term study found that 80% of abused people had at least one psychiatric disorder at age 21 such as eating disorders, suicidal attempts.
- Abused children receive bone fractures, particularly rib fractures, higher risk of developing cancer.
- Shaking a baby is a common form of child abuse that results in permanent neurological damage, hypertension, damage spinal cord and neck.
- Adult who have been abused in their childhood suffers from allergies, asthma, high blood pressure and ulcers.
- According to me, as a citizen we should rehabilitate those children.
- Take a part in supporting such children, share their depression.
- Teach your child, which is “good touch and bad touch”, of course many schools have been started this program.
- Obviously, it’s a parent’s duty to aware their children how to deal such situation, teach them with examples (which is happening in our day to day life).
- Provoke them, how to protect themselves. Since every child is precious.
- Never let your child to be alone with someone (adult) or family member, research indicates that 70% of child abuse is done by their family members.
- Alert your child what o do while he/she is detached from home.
- Pay attention where your child interacts with.
- Create comfortable situation for your child so that your child shares everything with you and as a result his/her problems are solved in ease.
As I said in beginning ‘birth is nature and nature is inevitable’, but what purpose of our birth is? I conclude that
“if you can, JOIN HANDS TOGETHER” to combat child abuse. Without your
participation, neither organization nor the parent can eradicate this issue. This is the time to ACT.......
